This was the first in a brand new series of concerts specially designed for families, the Young Adventurer series. Featuring a brand new commission from Swedish composer, Karen Rehnkvist, When the Earth Sings was a spectacular and beautiful retelling of the myth of Daphne and Apollo.

Many thanks to State Street for supporting the schools' matinee performances

Scrapers & Tooters in the Usher Hall

Now a well established event. The annual Scrapers & Tooters weekend is a chance for amateur musicians to work with a professional conductor and receive coaching from SCO musicians. This year the orchestra looked at Elgar's Cello Concerto and Vaughan Williams' Symphony No. 5.
