Composition workshops at Scottish Parliament birthday celebrations
SCO Education joined the Scottish Parliament's 10th Birthday party on Wednesday 1 July to run composition workshops for children who were born on the day that Parliament opened in 1999. From Highland villages to the BBC Proms - summer touring with the SCO
The SCO can be found performing in rural locations all over Scotland this summer, as well as in charming churches as part of the East Neuk Festival, at the Royal Albert Hall on 31 July for the BBC Proms, and at the Edinburgh International Festival in August. Read more here>>

Sir Charles Mackerras wins Critics' Award at Classical BRITS!
SCO Conductor Laureate Sir Charles Mackerras won the Critics' Award at the Classical BRITS at London's Royal Albert Hall on 14 May. His win recognises his mastery of the Mozart Symphonies 38-41 recording with Linn Records and the SCO. Read more here >>

Mozart Symphonies scoops prestigious BBC Music Magazine Awards

New Principal Conductor announcement - Robin Ticciati
The SCO is excited to announce the appointment of young British conductor Robin Ticciati to the post of Principal Conductor. The 25 year old, who made his debut with the Orchestra in the Highlands this summer, will take up the appointment from September 2009. Read more here>>
